Delta Faucets made from DIAMOND Seal Technology

Diamonds in a faucet?

Delta Faucet Co. has always been the innovative leader revolutionizing the plumbing industry every step of the way. Diamonds are the hardest substance known to man. Leave it to Delta Faucets to take advantage of this hard property and put diamonds into their DIAMOND™ Seal Technology. Delta's exclusive DIAMOND Seal Technology uses a valve with a tough diamond coating to bring you a faucet built to last up to 5 million uses. Plus it keeps water inside the faucet out of contact with potential metal contaminants.

With its durable components and simple construction, a DIAMOND Seal Technology faucet lasts 10 times longer than the industry standard (ASME 112.18.1, 500,000 cycles). One-piece InnoFlex® waterways with PEX-C tubing make DIAMOND Seal Technology faucets simple to install.

The handle limit stop on Delta’s DIAMOND™ Valve cartridge makes it easy to limit the range of the handle motion for hot water from full flow to a 50/50 mix. This feature is the smart choice to protect sensitive skin from scalding.

Is it really made of Diamonds?
Yes, but not the diamonds you find in jewelry stores. Delta takes carbon (the source of the diamonds) and electrically charges it. Then, using tremendous pressure, Delta fuses it to a ceramic plate, creating a diamond coating that is clear and indestructible.

Why InnoFlex waterways?
There is a growing concern about lead and other contaminants in our water that has led scientists to look for alternatives to copper plumbing. PEX-C is a crosslink polyethylene that has been used in the U.S. for over 20 years. It's unique composition makes it stronger than copper and easier to work with. As a result, entire homes are now being plumbed with PEX-C.

Why is DIAMOND Seal faucet slightly more expensive?
First of all, the beauty of the DIAMOND Seal Technology faucets is that there is still metal where it matters: in the handles, spout and the hardest working component of any faucet: the valve stem. Many valve stems are made of plastic. Delta Faucets are made of steel. In addition, InnoFlex waterways eliminate the need to buy additional risers. So the extraordinary advancements of the DIAMOND Seal Technology faucet is offered to all of our customers at an advantageous price.

Just how long is "longer lasting?"
Before Delta Faucet introduced the new DIAMOND Seal Technology, Delta put their faucets to the test. Hundreds of performance tests actually. So Delta can say with great certainty that a new DIAMOND Seal Technology faucet will last ten times longer than the industry standard (ASME 112.18.1 standard 500,000 cycles). The PEX-C waterways are made to last at least 50 years.

What's wrong with the conventional ball valve faucet?
Delta Faucet is proud of the ball valve and the introduction of it revolutionized the plumbing industry. But Delta Faucet is always looking for a better solution. The ball valve design, although revolutionary for its time back in 1954, has room for improvement. In higher-end application the technology is perceived as inferior. Wholesale showrooms and other channel partners prefer ceramic valves. Rather than simply meeting that demand, DIAMOND Seal Technology is Delta's latest accomplishment in advancing the industry.
